Psalm 18:28 ‘You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns into my darkness into light.’ PRAYER: Lord Jesus, some days it feels like my light is almost extinguished, but I know that You want to come alongside me and cause my light to burn bright again. Thank You for giving me hope in this hopeless situation. Light my path, Lord, for I do not know what to do. Amen
The psalmist says, “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” (Psalm 34:7). And, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” (Psalm 91:11). Every believer dwells in the midst of God’s protective care, surrounded by His angels. Whenever you are afraid, remind yourself that God’s army is with you. God’s angels stand guard over you. No enemy can ever harm you. Don’t be afraid. Remember Psalm 56:3: “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.”
Psalm 34:3 ‘Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.’ Living a life of praise is what you were designed to do. There may be many reasons to moan and complain. But God is still in control and He can be trusted. So, let’s praise the Lord today and let’s exalt His name together. PRAYER: Lord, I have decided that I will live a life of praise. So right now, I take this moment to praise You and to lift up Your wonderful name. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Psalm 146:5 ‘Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.’ Do you want to be blessed? Then put your hope and trust in the Lord. The Lord is your great Helper. Nothing is too difficult for the Lord your Maker. Our hope and expectation should be found in Him and in Him alone. PRAYER: Lord, You are my Helper. You will come to my aid and deliver me. My hope is in You and You are the forever faithful One. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:4-5 Are you oppressed by fear and anxiety? See what David did when he was fearful: He sought the Lord and He delivered him from all his fears. Then he goes on to say, those who look to Him are radiant. Who do you look to? If you look to people, they can do only so much, but if you look up to Jesus Christ, who is the Light, you will be radiant. You will never be put to shame, you will never be disappointed because the Lord will never let you down.
Psalm 146:3 ‘Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.’ Sometimes we put our trust in the wrong places. The Lord is the only One who can truly save us. Let us not be distracted by other sources of help’.The Lord is the source of our needs and we must look to Him with expectation. PRAYER: Lord, forgive me for thinking that other people can solve my problems when You are the only One to whom I can really turn. I place my trust and confidence in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
He will call on me, and I will answer him. Psalm 91:15 It seems so obvious to us that our prayers should be answered. They are things we long for and about which we are burdened. Surely they are good things and would bring glory to God. Why doesn’t God answer? Such questions put faith and patience to the test especially when we reach the point of desperation. You may think that God has forgotten you or angry with you. May be, He has answered your prayer and it is “no” or may be it is wait, which means His time hasn’t yet come. And when it does, it brings great glory to His Name. If the answer is “no” He may give you something better. Trust the Lord with all your prayers. He is listening to you; He knows what’s best for you.
