I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague. He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart. Psalm 91:2-4 Assuredly no subtle plot shall succeed against the one who has the eyes of God watching for his defense, we are foolish and weak as poor little birds, and are very apt to be lured to our destruction by cunning foes, but if we dwell near to God, He will see to it that the most skillful deceiver shall not entrap us and no plague will come nigh our dwelling.

EXODUS 12:7,13  And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. The Egyptians had no protection from the destroyer, but the people of Israel who put the blood of a lamb on their dwellings were safe. The blood represented the Blood of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world – Jesus Christ (Revelation 13:8)..The blood applied stopped the destroyer.  With blood on the door of the Israelites in Egypt, no evil dared enter their dwelling. Christ is our Passover Lamb.  Likewise, we are kept safe through the protection of the divine Blood of Jesus. 1 CORINTHIANS 5:7 For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

A refuge is a place where you run and hide when troubles get to be too much.  Like a cleft in the rock, it covers and protects us.  We need that when the storms of life come.  But notice:  God does not provide a refuge for us; He is our refuge.  If the enemy of our souls is distracting you, tempting you, discouraging you, look to God to shelter you with His wings. Do you need someone to protect and hold you close at this moment in your life?  He is there right when you need Him. You are safe with Him. Do not fear! But the Lord will be a refuge for His people…Joel 3:16

Prayer: God, You said You’d be my refuge!” I thank You for being there for me. I have no one else to turn to. I know You are my very present help in time of need. I trust in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Ephesians 6:16 ‘Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.’
The enemy wants to see us destroyed and rendered powerless. But the Lord has given us the tools to take a stand and walk in victory.
We have the shield of faith and it can put out the fiery darts of the enemy. Stand firm, hold onto your faith and see the flaming arrows extinguished.
PRAYER: Lord, with the eyes of my heart, I see how the attempts of the evil one to destroy me are being reduced to ashes. I take the shield of faith and I see how You cause me to walk on the high places You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 ‘The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.’
Our trustworthy and faithful Lord has wonderful plans for us. He wants to make sure that nothing will undermine His plans for our futures.
He loves us, and in His great love He strengthens and protects us. What a privilege for those who take refuge in Him!
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for Your strength and protection over my life. Therefore the enemy has no power over me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

Gates and bars do well to protect a home or a city, but then only are they secure when God makes them strong. The true safety is in God’s defence of it. Psalm 127:1 says, unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards watch in vain. Is God your defence? Have you taken shelter and refuge in Him? You can rest assured that He will keep you and your home safe and secure. Your children will be blessed within your walls. Don’t live in fear, child of God. For He has strengthened the bars of your gates and blessed your children within your walls. Psalm 147:13

Psalm 125:2 ‘As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people.’
Just imagine, for moment, that your life is surrounded by the LORD. That problem, that issue you are facing, is something He knows and has surrounded them with His love and care. You are never alone, He is always with you. Rest secure, knowing that He surrounds you on every side.

PRAYER: Lord, Your great love for me is beyond comprehension. At every turn I can trust that Your love and care is there for me. So I will be confident in Your all-encompassing presence today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

God never abandons His children. In times of danger and distress, He spreads His wings of protection and comfort over us. Under the shadow of His wings, we don’t need to fear the difficult circumstances of life. Storms may rage around us, but we are safe under the canopy of His constant care. The psalmist assures us, “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge.” (Psalm 91:4)
If you are going through painful times, take refuge under His wings. Take comfort in the fact that God’s protection is spread over you. Nothing can touch your life without His permission. Nothing can threaten when He is your Protector.

In this world, there is every kind of life’s storm imaginable — everything from tornadoes — job loss — sickness — accident — evil men. You name it.
These are situations in which we are totally helpless. But, God is not. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 says, But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
As we begin a new month, no matter what we have to face, “the LORD is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one”. We tend to forget this truth in the middle of our overwhelming situations. But, it is good to be reminded of the LORD’s faithful and everlasting love that carries us through everything we need to face.

Jesus said, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” Mark 4:35
Did He know they would encounter a storm? Of course He did. It must have been quite a storm, because even these seasoned fishermen feared for their lives. Just because you’re in Jesus’ boat doesn’t mean that it’s going to be smooth sailing. This storm did not hit the disciples because they had been disobedient but, rather, because they had been obedient. But He never for a moment left them.
Nothing is too difficult for the living God. Not a breath of wind or a drop of water can defy His sovereign will. If He said, I will take to the other side, He will take you there. No storm can keep you out of His will, away from His plan. On the contrary it will hasten you to the place of your destiny. The bigger the storm, the more the Lord will be glorified when we trust Him.
