Circumstances often bring us to a place where the future looks bleak and the outcome is unknown. Like a shepherd who walks before his flock to make sure the land is safe, God walks before His children to scout out the land and lead them in the right direction. It doesn’t matter what lies ahead of us, He goes before us. As the Israelites were crossing into the Promised Land, they were facing a scary situation. They were walking into a battle they couldn’t win on their own, but they marched with confidence because they knew the One who went before them. I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight.   Isaiah 45:2 No matter how lost you might feel, remember that you are not alone. God is with you, follow Him step by step, He’ll lead you to where you need to go.

When God called Abraham out of the land of Ur of the Chaldeans, he had no clear directive about the land to which he was going. . It took a great deal of faith for him to go to a strange land. Abraham had nothing to rely on except God’s clear command to go, yet he obeyed God . God seldom gives us reasons and explanations but He does give us promises to hold on to. Do you trust God? When you know God wants you to do something, would you step out in faith, even though He hasn’t given you reasons why? Will you be obedient to His call? Will you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding?
“Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5)
