Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
This is the promise that God gives to every believer who is willing to put his total trust in Him. God will give us a peace, not just in some circumstances but in all. We will have peace about our family, about our finances and about our health. When we surrender our lives to Him, the God of peace gives us a peace that “surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). It is a peace that guards both our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. It’s a deep-down peace.
Teach us to number our days so we may obtain a heart of wisdom.
This Psalm is a sober reminder of the frailty of life.
Consider the folly of the world, chasing after things that won’t last, storing up treasures on earth, seeking pleasures that will wither and fade away. We need the wisdom of God that turns our hearts to desire the eternal. Do we have a sense of purpose? Have we considered what purpose the Lord might have for us, and how we might use the time He has given us to that end?
Lord, give us wisdom that we may invest our time in that which is of eternal value, so that we may fulfill the purpose for which you created us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ (Isaiah 46:10)
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. – Proverbs 16:9
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. -Proverbs 19:21
Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? —Lamentations 3:37
Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. —Psalms 135:6
There are no coincidences for a Christian!
If the mark of a Christian is belief without faltering, I fall short. I have doubted God many times. I have questioned Him. I have not trusted Him completely when things seem impossible.
When I read the bible, I find many examples of people just like me, people who doubted, argued and questioned. Like Peter who knew Jesus so well and yet said, “I don’t know who Jesus is.” Matthew 26:72
Jesus did not reject Him, instead He loved Him and even prepared a meal for Him. Our doubts and fears never drive away our Saviour. He is so patient and loving towards us. Many doubts and fears simply cannot quench His love for us.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is His written Instruction Book to mankind. It answers every important question in life. It explains how to live and reveals the road to salvation. 2 Timothy 2:15 admonishes, “Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
The Bible provides light to avoid pitfalls in the path of life. The Bible gives us wisdom to understand the crucial aspects of salvation. 2 Timothy 3:16 declares, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
2 Samuel 22:2
‘The Lord is MY rock, MY fortress and MY deliverer!’
– The Lord is your rock, your absolute security.
– The Lord is your fortress, your castle of safety.
– The Lord is your deliverer, the one who brings you through the trial.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I declare that You are MY rock, MY fortress and MY deliverer. You will never leave me or abandon me and You will sustain me to the end. Amen
